In 1952, John Woodall began his long career in the insurance business with a focus on protecting the welfare of his clients and their families. In 2003, his daughter, Melissa Woodall Curtis, joined Woodall Agency Insurance and a father-daughter team was formed. In 2010, Melissa, as the next generation, took the lead role in working with existing clients and new clients continuing the same level of service and expertise they have come to expect from Woodall Agency Insurance.
Clients of the Woodall Agency experience the benefits of working with an independent agent who represents multiple carriers. This assures that clients have access to the best products, service and price available to meet their specific needs.

Melissa Woodall Curtis
Melissa is a Chattanooga native with a long family legacy in the Insurance industry. Woodall Agency Insurance was founded in 1952 by Melissa’s father, John M. Woodall, CLU, ChFC. Melissa has been the president of the agency since 2010. In 2018 Melissa and colleagues formed Bluffview Insurance Group, which is a consortium of independent insurance specialists. She serves as a Board member and current President (2023-24) of the Chattanooga Estate Planning Council. Melissa is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School and Newcomb College of Tulane University. Melissa is passionate about helping her clients protect their families and businesses. She uses careful, customized planning to ensure that loved ones and businesses are protected from financial risk. Life, disability, long-term care, estate planning, and business/key man planning are her specialties.
Melissa enjoys her involvement in the Chattanooga community. She has served on the Board of Trustees for Girls Preparatory School, Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute Board and as the former Chair of CWLI’s Financial Empowerment Series. She also served on UTC’s Planned Giving Advisory Council. Melissa is a member of the Leadership Chattanooga class of 2016-2017. She is also a member of a National Study Group of Insurance Professionals with NFP Partners Financial.
